Anyone who visits this site knows that I am a Gator through and through.  I AM A GATOR.  I bleed orange and blue.  I have repeatedly stated that choosing to attend the University of Florida was the best decision I ever made for my life.

Ever.

With that said, I was understandably heartbroken on Saturday.  Was I just upset because we lost? Absolutely not.  I was devastated by the manner in which we (yes, I said we) lost the game.  It was disgusting.  But if anyone thinks that will turn me away from my Gators, they got another thing coming.  Seriously.  If nothing else, I’m sad for Tim Tebow.  This is it for him.  This is the end of his college career and his team let him, and the Gator Nation, down that day.

While I do not believe anyone who was not on that field should cry, I was really, really, really hurt that night.  I hung up on one of my cousins and ignored a phone call from a friend (Alabama alum).  I then took to Facebook and warned everyone that if they posted a nasty comment on my wall, I would delete them.  I do not regret that and do not intend to take that down.  I even went so far as to delete at least three people who were talking shit in their statuses.  These people did not even go to Alabama!  The only team I wish to see lose ever is the stupid New England Patriots.  I revel in all of their losses.  If they perform poorly, my favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts, have an easier road to travel.  But these kids?  Some of them are stupid Georgia students who are just bitter.  And that?  I cannot abide by.

In closing, I love my Gators.  Yes, we lost, but we’ll get a good bowl game and move on.  If nothing else, this is a lesson for us.  We have been spoiled by wins.  We haven’t experienced pain like this since the Dark Years (when Zook was the coach).  Some students don’t even know about that!  They have experienced 4 championships in 2 sports during their time at Florida.  They have no idea how bad it can get.  But I know.  Some of my friends know.  And we’re ready.

We are all strong for old Florida.  In all sorts of weather, we all stick together… for F-L-O-R-I-D-A.

I have no problem admitting that I was wholly unprepared to post for this week’s Writing Wednesday. And because of this, I’m sitting here writing this entry instead of making something for lunch. I had no concrete topics in mind, so today I will talk about…. um….. football! Two big name players have been making the trending topics on Twitter this week - Michael Vick and Brett Favre. Both players have returned to the No Fun League amid buckets of controversy.

I am, by no means, a sports writer. Nor would I want to be. All I’m going to here is add my two cents, as it’s less likely that you guys will throw balls of fire and/or tomatoes at me.

Michael Vick: Let’s start with him since his news broke first. For those of you who don’t know, Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this month. Some people are unhappy, but some see this as a good football move. Me? I don’t have a problem with this at all. But I have always been of the opinion that this particular situation was taken to the extreme. Not only that, but he did the crime, he did the time. What’s the problem here? We’ve got other NFL players running people down with their cars (yes, Stallworth, I mean you), but the Vick story got a lot more press. It could be due to the popularity of the player, but, seriously. A PERSON DIED!

I am glad that he has a new job. To those who don’t want him as a role model for their children, perhaps you should point your kids away from sports playing fields to look for icons, hm? Don’t even get me started on how sports role models can distort a child’s (or teenager’s) perception of their own chances of playing professional sports. I would be more incensed over a rapist or child molester running around on the playing field, than Michael Vick. But that’s just me.

Brett Favre: Oh, the disappointment. He’s baaaaaaaack. Again. Ugh. Don’t get me wrong - I like Brett. What I don’t like is a liar! He is now King of Lies. About six months ago, he basically said there was no way he was coming back to the NFL. And wham bam shazaam! Here he is again. I mean, there are former players from his new team that don’t even like him. Packers fans are having a fit of epic proportions. While I’m sitting here, looking foolish because I posted on Twitter about how happy I was that he wasn’t returning. Just play! Stop retiring! I can’t take the back and forth. It makes me dizzy. And irritable.

I probably sound angry, but I’m really not. I watched this video to make me happy. It never gets old for me.

Please be advised that the idea for this post is very, very old. I mean, OLD. At least a year old. I just never got around to actually writing it. And now, I am. As you, my dear four readers, may remember, I did a post quite some time ago referring to Adrien Grenier as the poor girl’s Orlando Bloom. It caused a media frenzy!* Comments tripled** and I ended up writing a follow up post because of that entry’s popularity. I even posted a lighter version of this comparing a friend of a friend to Jason Mraz, though I did not endorse one guitar playing individual over the other.

Now, I’m bizzack! One reason I think I let this post idea sit so long is because I fell out of infatuation/lust with Reggie Bush. I don’t find him as sexy as I did 1-2 years ago. Also, when I first wanted to write this he was still doing pretty well professionally. Now? Eh, not as much. However, I’m gonna go ahead and post this anyway, because I’m tired of it sitting in my draft list.

Reggie Bush and Troy Smith are both Heisman winners who play in the NFL. Reggie’s a running back for the New Orleans Saints and Troy is a back-up quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. I’m gonna make this short and to the point. Reggie Bush is deliciously sexy. Troy Smith looks like a well made knock off. Reggie Bush is super famous and actually gets play time. Troy Smith does not. I own a Reggie Bush jersey. I have never seen a Troy Smith jersey.

Notice how even I tried to be with the photographic evidence? I could’ve posted this - but I didn’t. I’m fair. Don’t ever say that I wasn’t.

Survey says: Troy Smith is Reggie Bush when all the money ran out. Thank you and good night.

* By media frenzy, I mean people actually read it.
** There were only 3 comments, but I usually just get one. So, this is a factual statement.
